Over the summer months of 2014, when many members of the Washington University community were away from campus, the Kopolow Business Library in Simon Hall was being significantly refreshed, expanded, and modernized to improve the library's appearance, capabilities, and function. The library reopened on Monday, August 25. The library improvements are part of the Olin Business School’s major renovation of Simon Hall.
Open to all WU students, the Business Library features 17 new group study rooms, a collaborative computing station on the library's main level, and an instructional room on the mezzanine level. The entire space has been repainted, floors have been recarpeted, and ceilings retiled. More electrical outlets have been added to enable plugging in laptops and other devices.
Furniture will still be arriving into mid-September, with the result being that students will have more than 60 additional seats—and more seating options—for both quiet study and collaborative work.
Its regular hours for the fall and spring semesters are:
- Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. – midnight
- Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- Saturday, noon – 5 p.m.
- Sunday, noon – midnight
