A few weeks ago, the C-SPAN crew interviewed University Archivist Sonya Rooney about WU Libraries' William Greenleaf Eliot Personal Papers. In town to visit historical locations and interview local scholars, authors, and civic leaders about St. Louis's rich history and literary life, C-SPAN will air its St. Louis-focused programming the weekend of June 21-22. Specific blocks include 11 a.m. CDT on Saturday, June 21, and 9:45 a.m. CDT on Sunday, June 22 (C-SPAN2 BookTV).
The Cities Tour takes C-SPAN's Book TV and American History TV (AHTV) programming on the road. Selecting cities that are rich with history and have interesting local literary communities but are not often featured on the national scene, the hope is to bring a little of the cities' heritages to a nationwide audience.
Update (6-23-2014): If you didn't catch University Archives on C-SPAN, you can view the segment online here: http://series.c-span.org/LocalContent/StLouis/, under the Book TV column, listed as The Personal Papers of William Greenleaf Eliot – Washington University Archives.
