The University Libraries' collections are always growing, and these days growth is surging in ebooks and other electronic resources, freely available to current WU students, faculty, and staff just as the library's print collections are. What's more, ebooks can be accessed from anywhere at any time, so long as the user has internet access.
To learn more about these offerings, pause in front of the newly installed digital sign near the Help Desk on Level 1 of Olin Library. It features individual electronic books now offered online to the Washington University community.
Jeffrey Trzeciak, university librarian, explains the sign's function: "The digital sign is meant to call attention to a resource that isn't always immediately visible: our vast ebook collection. The sign helps make users aware of the great variety of titles they may read in ebook format."
The selection of books featured on the screens will be changed regularly. Users can discover and read these ebooks—and more—by searching for them in the library's online catalog.
To learn more about ebooks, ask at the Olin Library Help Desk, talk with your subject librarian, or visit the Libraries’ online ebook guide.
