Twenty newly arrived orange chairs have added a burst of fresh color to Olin Library, and there's more to come as the Libraries update the furniture surrounding the popular atrium area on Levels 2 and 3.
The lounge chairs and coordinating side tables delivered August 7 will soon be accompanied by 20 more chairs in the same style but a different fabric, plus 16 others in a different, complementary style. As the new chairs arrive, the older, blue chairs will be relocated to Level 1, providing additional seating there while longer-term planning for Level 1 furniture continues.
"The new chairs, side tables, and ottomans will revitalize the highly visible and heavily used area around the atrium, while beginning to address an important space planning goal to provide a wider variety of seating options in Olin," says Sarah Laaker, manager of user space planning and campus liaison. "We hope people get to try the new chairs out soon, and we welcome feedback."
