Twitter may appear to be one of many online attention drains, but tweeting often proves surprisingly practical.
Washington University Libraries staff members are offering two free workshops aimed to help interested members of the WUSTL community explore how and why this social media tool can be useful.
An introductory Twitter 101 session is scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 10. Geared for the Twitter novice, this hour-and-a-half session will cover account creation, search features, what it means to follow someone, how to construct a tweet, what hashtags and retweets are, and other Twitter basics.
Twitter and Marketing, scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, July 26, is designed to introduce attendees to tips and ideas for integrating the micro-blogging tool into marketing plans for events, departments, or organizations.
Both sessions are free to WUSTL students, faculty, and staff and will be held in Olin Library’s Arc Presentation Room (Level A). For more information and to register, visit wulibraries.doattend.com. Follow University Libraries on Twitter at twitter.com/@WUSTLlibraries.
