Climate Data, RAND Documents, and More

The Libraries have recently added several e-resources to our website and catalog:

• National Climatic Data Center Online Document Library contains a plethora of climate data – local, national, and world.   Free access due to the Libraries' status as a U.S. Federal Depository Library; not available from off-campus.
• RAND Documents covering social and economic policy issues in the U.S. and overseas, international policy, and national security. Many are available full-text in PDF format for free.
• Tax Analysts includes Tax Notes Today, Tax Notes, State Tax Today, Worldwide Tax Daily, and Worldwide Tax Treaties. Subscribed by WU Law Library; available campus-wide.
• Morningstar Investment Research Center provides research and independent opinions on thousands of mutual funds, stocks, and exchange-traded funds.
• Morningstar Document Research  (formerly known as 10K Wizard) streamlines financial and legal research with pinpoint accuracy targeting the exact information needed from SEC EDGAR filings, stock data, and international reports.

Kappa Delta Pi, International Honor Society in Education: An Exhibit

This exhibit presents a brief history of Kappa Delta Pi, which was founded in 1911. The organization was established to foster excellence in education and promote fellowship among those dedicated to teaching. John Dewey, famous educator, became the first member of it's Laureate Chapter in 1924. In 1930 Washington University in St. Louis established the Beta Upsilon Chapter. Libraries Closed Over Holidays

Don't forget! The Libraries will be closed over the holidays from December 25, 2009 - January 3, 2010. This includes:

• Olin Library
• Art & Architecture (closed 12/24)
• Business
• Chemistry (closed 12/24)
• Earth & Planetary Sciences (closed 12/24)
• East Asian
• Music
• Physics (closing 12/24 at noon)
• West Campus Library

During the intersession period between semesters (December 18 - January 18), most libraries will have reduced hours of operation, especially on weekends. Check each library's website for a complete listing. Individuals wanting to visit the Arc, Digital Library Services, or Special Collections should call ahead.

For hours at the Law, Medical School, or Social Work libraries, visit their websites.

Normal operating hours will resume at all libraries starting Tuesday, January 19, the first day of classes for the spring semester.

RefWorks, ProQuest, CSA unavailable Saturday night

ProQuest® will be performing infrastructure maintenance from 9pm this Saturday, December 5, 2009 until 1am the next morning (a 4-hour window).  During this time none of the following databases will be available:
