Updates for China Data Online (database)

The Library subscribes to this database.  Please let me know if you need more information.
Meanwhile:

We are pleased to inform you of the following updates of the China Data Online service:

 

1.      The yearbook database has been updated with about 300 additional statistical yearbooks, including China 2009 Statistical Yearbook and some other national, provincial and city statistical yearbooks

2.      There is a new dynamic map service (Statistics on Map II) for statistical data, which offers dynamic maps, report, charts and living animation.

3.      The China Spatial Data Reports and Maps (DemographicsNowChina), which offer spatial intelligence for demographic and business Census data retrieval and analysis.

RefWorks for Alumni!

 

	RefWorks-COS is pleased to announce that the Alumni Program will now be offered as a standard feature of RefWorks, providing lifelong access to users that are alumni of subscribing institutions. As long as an institution subscribes to RefWorks, alumni will have access, allowing them to continue using their personal research databases for future professional and academic endeavors. Lifelong access to RefWorks will be an added benefit for alumni, and help academic institutions maintain the healthy alumni relationships that are so essential for donations, rankings and other ongoing involvement. New Content in Women and Social Movements in the U.S.

The September release of Women and Social Movements in the United States: Scholar's Edition is now live. The collection now includes 92 document projects/archives with more than 3,600 documents.

 

Two new projects/archives are:

 

"How Did the Canadian Women's Liberation Movement Emerge from the Sixties Student Movements? The Case of Simon Fraser University " by Roberta Lexier

 

"The Women's Pages of The Western Producer, 1925-1939: Violet McNaughton and Interwar Feminism in Canada" by Margaret Hobbs and Susan Wurtel

 

There are also an additional 150,000 pages of full-text documents, including a selection of 8,000 pages of publications of the League of Women Voters, 1920-2000.

 

Also included is the final release of the Commissions on the Status of Women.  This

New Database: Slavery and Anti-Slavery

The Libraries have purchased Slavery and Anti-Slavery: A Transnational Archive, Part I, a new Gale database that has been requested by a number of faculty.  A full-text database, it '...includes documents from the United States and Europe, as well as other parts of the world. In addition to newspaper collections and books published in the antebellum era, Slavery and Anti-Slavery contains documents from several archives originally available only on microfilm. This first iteration, Debates over Slavery and Abolition, contains over 1.5 million cross-searchable pages, 7,247 books, 80 serials, more than fifteen manuscript collections, & court records...'
