The Libraries have offered an Ask Us service on the website for a number of years, which offered assistance via email, chat, phone, and more recently via text as well. The chat, phone, and text services have not changed, but we’ve made an update and improvement to the email version: we’ve subscribed to a service that makes the questions and answers searchable. So if you have a question about the Libraries or any of our services, you can see if someone else has already asked about it – and see the answer right away, rather than waiting for an emailed response. Wireless Access

The wireless access in the Physics Library has been upgraded. We now have the same WUFI system used across campus.

• WUFI-S – (Recommended) Secure wireless that utilizes WUSTL-key authentication.
• WUFI – Non-secure, open wireless that requires web browser (captive portal) authentication.
• GUESTWIFI-WUSTL – Non-secure, open wireless with limited bandwidth and accessibility that doesn't require a login.

Subsidized Open Access Fees for WU and WUSM Authors

The Washington University Open Access Resolution, passed in 2011, encourages faculty to publish their research in open access journals. Publishing in open access journals usually requires an author publication fee to offset the cost of publication. To help support authors who publish in open access journals, Washington University Libraries and Becker Medical Library have opted for membership status as part of journal subscriptions to open access publishers and select journal titles which allows faculty a discount on author publication fees.
