As I mentioned last month, during the month of June, printers and copiers throughout the Libraries (all Libraries except Law, Medicine, and Social Work) will be replaced with new multi-function devices. At the same time the Libraries will begin using the PaperCut print management system that is used in most other Schools and Departments on the Danforth Campus. After the switch to the PaperCut system, printing and copying prices in the Libraries will decrease!! New rates will be:

$0.04 per page for single-sided, black on white pages

$0.03 per page (side) for double-sided black on white pages

$0.25 for single-sided, color pages

$0.20 per page (side) for double-sided color pages

Copies will be charged at the same per page rate as printing

After the switch to PaperCut, the current copy card service will no longer be used. If you have a copy card with a remaining balance, you may contact the Library Business Office (Olin Library, Level B, 314-935-4013) during regular business hours for a refund.

REMEMBER: Scanning is FREE and easy to do. Scanned images can be emailed or saved to a flash drive. Scanners are available on all levels of Olin in the stack areas, near the copiers on level 1 and also in the Arc.

You may find this interview with Reuben Hersh and Vera John-Steiner interesting. They are the authors of a new Princeton University Press book Loving + hating mathematics : challenging the myths of mathematical life. There are several available copies from Mobius.
