Beginning Oct. 1, we will resume displaying math-related new books in the Math Library. This was a popular feature of the library that has been missing for that past 18 months.
New books will be displayed near the math reference books. While books are on display, they are non-circulating. If you want to take a particular book out after it is off the display, you can write your name on the date due slip or post-a-note inside the back cover of each book. You will receive an email when the book is on the math hold shelf for you. If waiting is ever a problem, please ask.
NOTE: The new book shelf will never display all new books. We are now regularly acquiring many e-books, particularly the new books published by Springer, Birkhauser, etc. There are also new books that may not be displayed because they have gone to some other library and bypassed our review.
Our current plan is to change the new book display every 2 weeks. We'll see how that works.
You will be able to browse the books currently on the new books shelf at this site: https://catalog.wustl.edu/search/r?math+new. We will also continue to post lists on this blog whenever new books are put onto the new book display at https://wulibraries.typepad.com/mathnews/books_ebooks/index.html
If you have comments pro or con, please let us hear from you!
