+4100 Full Text Scholarly E-Books in German Available--in WU Catalog

Over 4100 scholarly titles in German are now available FULL TEXT and online. The Digi20 collection was developed by the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek (BSB) in cooperation with the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG).

Titles are still in copyright; some as recent as 2003! All are from leading academic publishers: Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht, Wilhelm Fink, Ferdinand Schöningh as well as Otto Sagner. Subjects include most humanities, social sciences, and science.

All of the titles can be found in the WU Classic Catalog or Discovery Catalog. You can search for these by title or author. Click on "WUSTL full text" to access item.

The interface in Digi20 is in German or English. You can also browse by subject or search

James Boyle, the William Neal Reynolds Professor of Law, and co-founder of the Center for the Study of the Public Domain at Duke Law School, will give 3 lectures at Washington University.

Professor Boyle was on the original board of Creative Commons and a co-founder of Science Commons.

One recent book, The public domain : enclosing the commons of the mind (New Haven: Yale University Press, c2008), is available online for free under a Creative Commons license or in paper at the Law Library. James Boyle is also co-author of a comic-book style piece: Bound by law? : tales from the public domain.
