Oxford Language Dictionaries Online

The Libraries now subscribe to Oxford Language Dictionaries Online, a database of Oxford's bilingual dictionaries, which includes English-German, German-English, English-French, French-English, English-Italian, Italian-English, English-Spanish, & Spanish-English. And more are coming.

NOTE: Please logout when done; only three concurrent users are allowed.

• Fully searchable; includes limit options (e.g. geographical areas, parts of speech)
• Can browse through dictionaries entries.
• "Did you mean" feature provides assistance
• Entries include idiomatic expressions and usage examples.
• Can print, email, cite, or link to entries
• German Resources: includes culture info, language games/quizzes, vocabulary lists, correspondence tips, grammar resources

Literature Criticism Online--NEW DATABASE

Literature Criticism Online provides full-text access (2007-) to ten literary criticism series from Gale which represent a range of modern and historical views on authors and their works across regions, eras and genres.

Note: the Basic Search screen has a link to Gale's Lit Index which indexes ALL volumes from all years. The Libraries own most of them in print.  Please check the Catalog for the location of each series.

• Literature Criticism Online provides critical overviews of some of the major players in German literature.
• Lit Index also indexes Dictionary of Literary Biography -- a great resource for biographical overviews of literary figures.

Get It! Has a New Look

Get It! has a new look but still provides the same service. As before clicking on Get It! creates a popup which will:

• show the citation you're searching
• provide any FULL-TEXT options available
• provide links to search on the journal title and/or ISSN in the Catalog
• links to request the article via ArticleReach Direct or ILLiad
• Tips page if you run into problems
