Early English Books Online, 1473-1700

Early English Books Online (EEBO) contains digital facsimile page images of virtually every work printed in England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales and British North America and works in English printed elsewhere from 1473-1700.

Provides English translations of a number of continental European works of this time. Also includes works in other languages published in England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales and British North America.

You can search directly in the Library Catalog for these works or in the EEBO database.

Exhibition: Nobel Prize Winners ~ Past and Present

A new exhibition in the lobby cases at Olin Library highlights the 2006 Nobel Laureates in all categories and Nobelists affiliated with Washington University.  Notable features of the exhibition include details of the 2006 Nobel Laureate in Literature, Orhan Pamuk's, visit to Washington University on November 27th and the Nobel quiz.  Be sure to stop by and test your knowledge!  Exhibition runs from November 21st to December 18th, 2006.

New German Critique--Increased Access!

We now have access to current issues of New German Critique (0094-033X) through Duke University Press. Issues available electronically include: v. 1 (1973) to the present.

We are also still maintaining a print subscription.

Blunt Appoints Members to Holocaust Education and Awareness Commission

Gov. Matt Blunt appointed five members to the Holocaust Education and Awareness Commission. Among the members included is Richard M. Kalfus, chair of the Humanities Department at St. Louis Community College. Kalfus received a doctorate in German language and literature from Washington University.
