-- New in 2016: ORCID Required for Royal Society Manuscript Submission
-- ScienceDirect would no longer be supporting Internet Explorer 8 as of 1 January 2016. Have you heard? Spread the word about upgrading your browser
-- The presentation about the Altmetric Top 100 articles in 2015 is interesting if you, like me, are trying to figure out the meaning and value of altmetric information, such as blog and twitter mentions, etc. 42% of the top 100 were open access; 54% were biology/medical/health sciences. I did not see any articles from Washington University authors in the top 100.
-- Recommended: Publishing Better Science through Better Data 2015. Most of these presentations are less than 30 minutes; I found several of them quite interesting, for example: Beyond supplementary material: sharing data effectively through repositories and data journals, Writing your scientific papers with reproducible research tools: a case study in Neuroscience, Interactive and Collaborative Analytics with Active Data Biology, and more.
